Asian stock markets traded higher on Wednesday, with investors firmly focused on the interest rate decision by the Federal Reserve, due later in the day. Most analysts are expecting the Fed to hold rates, with a minority predicting a 25-basis point hike, Ednews reports.
The Nikkei 225 rose by 1.04% at 4:05 am CET, Hang Seng was up by 0.49%, and the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.23%. A minute later, the Shanghai Composite grew by 0.41%, and the Shenzhen Composite improved by 0.44%, while the Kospi Composite was flat.
The dollar traded 0.09% lower against the yen and went for 140.1025 at 4:07 am CET.
