The next year's state budget in Azerbaijan and the budget framework for the next 3 years envisage the creation of significant financial support for the restoration of the liberated territories, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said at today’s plenary sitting of the Milli Majlis, Ednews informs.
He also noted that the strengthening of defense and national security is a priority direction in the budget.
“Thanks to the determination of President Ilham Aliyev, the foundations of Azerbaijan’s statehood have been further strengthened. The state of Azerbaijan has been rapidly continuing construction works in the territories freed from occupation for 3 years. During this period, in addition to the funds allocated from the state budget, additional revenues were also directed to construction works. So far, a total of 11 billion manats (nearly $6.5 billion) have been spent on the restoration of those areas, and by the end of the current year, these funds are expected to reach 12 billion manats (roughly $7 billion). The reintegration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur into the country's economy will be the main priority in the coming years,” Sharifov said.
