On May 17, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova, who is on a working visit to Geneva to participate in the 1st meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 6th World Conference of Parliament Speakers, met with Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the UN Office in Geneva, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told Ednews.
The relations between this organization and Azerbaijan were discussed at the meeting held in the "Azerbaijan Room" of the UN Office in Geneva. It was noted that Azerbaijan closely cooperates with the UN and its institutions. At the meeting, the importance of the size of the parliament in solving modern global challenges was highlighted.
The Director General expressed her satisfaction with Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 and emphasized the importance of the successful steps taken by Azerbaijan in the field of green energy.
