According to the ambassador, several directions have been identified for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
The driving forces of economic relations are strategic sectors such as energy, pharmaceuticals and agriculture, while water resources management and information technologies also have great potential.Future cooperation between Hungary and Azerbaijan may include transport infrastructure, Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tamas Torma said in a statement to EDnews.
The ambassador noted that new opportunities have also emerged in the space industry and defense sectors, calling the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Hungary's largest private company, and Azercosmos on April 24 in these areas a turning point in this regard.
"Future cooperation may extend to transport infrastructure, including railway and road projects. Hungary is involved in the reconstruction of liberated territories. A Hungarian company is reconstructing the Soltanli settlement in Jabrayil. We see more opportunities for fruitful cooperation in this area," said Tamas.
