The meeting covered discussions on the development prospects of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, the future of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international security issues.
The exceptional importance of mutual visits and contacts between the two countries was highlighted, especially the state visit of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Azerbaijan, as well as the adoption of the Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam during this visit.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, EDnews informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The parties also underscored the existence of broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, defense industry, energy security, transport-communications, and humanitarian areas. They also noted the necessity of using platforms such as political consultations and the Intergovernmental Commission to stimulate the use of these opportunities.
Cooperation issues within regional and international organizations, including the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, and Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia were discussed, and the importance of continuing mutual support and solidarity was emphasized.
