A peaceful demonstration was held in front of Sheridan Circle in Washington, with the participation of representatives of the Turkish and Azerbaijani diasporas in protest against the march of the Armenian diaspora on the so-called "Armenian genocide."
EDnews's US bureau reports that hundreds of diaspora representatives from various US states participated in the demonstration. The flags of Turkey, Azerbaijan and other Turkic-speaking countries were raised at the demonstration, slogans such as "ASALA must answer for Armenian terrorism," "The US supports the Turkey-Armenia Historical Commission," and "Reconciliation is better than false accusations" were chanted, photos of diplomats and their families who were victims of terrorism were displayed, and terrorist acts against Turks and Azerbaijanis were condemned. It was noted that Turks and Azerbaijanis want peace and that historians, not politicians, should evaluate what happened in 1915.
In the evening local time, demonstrators chanted slogans against the Armenian diaspora, who marched past the Azerbaijani and Turkish embassies in the United States, passing through Sheridan Circle and moving towards the White House.
