The US government may leave Iraq and Syria for campaign purposes before the presidential elections in those countries.
US President Biden wants to use the withdrawal of US forces from the Middle East as support for his 2024 campaign.
The Turkish government wants to implement the "Safe Zone" strategy it announced earlier. The governments of Russia and Iran want to establish dominance in the areas that the United States can evacuate, as in Manbij during the Trump era, without giving Turkey a chance. This may lead to an increase in Russian and Iranian bases on the Turkish border.
But how true are these claims? Will Biden keep his promise, or are these promises made for the sake of the election? Will the Turkish government be able to implement the previously announced "Safe Zone" strategy?
American researcher and journalist Peter Tase said on Ednews that it is a huge blunder on the part of the Biden Harris administration to give a blank check to the government of Russia and to the Iranian regime so that both states have a greater influence in Syria-Iraq territory:
"The White House must support unequivocally the Government of Türkiye and offer intelligence support to the Turkish Armed Forces. These geopolitical shifts, are becoming very dubious and skeptical in regards to the influential increase that Russia and Iran aspire to accomplish while always threatening the United States."
According to him, it is a geoeconomic blunder to observe how Washington is losing leverage in the Middle East, including the tragic withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, leaving behind over 80 billion USD of military equipment, including helicopters, top-quality armored vehicles, tanks, and surface-to-air missiles.
P. Tase noted that Russia will continue to exert pressure and use the Middle East as a crucial geopolitical game that will benefit the Russian Federation, bolster its morale, and help Moscow, as the country is conducting a brutal war of attrition and destruction against the people and natural resources of Ukraine:
"The leadership of President Ilham Aliyev has further strengthened security and stability in the South East region of Europe. In this regard, it is unfortunate that the White House does not pay attention to the recently developing sociopolitical dynamics in Europe. Such erroneous decisions will immensely affect the United States in the long run."
An American journalist added that it is unbelievable how Washington is giving a hand of support to Paraguay's former president, Mario Abdo Benitez, who has been involved in many alleged acts of money laundering and facilitating drug trade within the region and continues to be free.
