Peugeot (PSA Group), a platform inaugurated in the Kenitra Atlantique Free Zone in June 2019, will also use Tanger Med to strengthen the PSA ecosystem in Morocco and plans to produce 200,000 cars per year by 2020.
Furthermore, the Tangier Med II extension inaugurated in June 2019 should increase the port's capacity to more than 9 million containers to become the largest port in Africa and the Mediterranean.

On December 3, 2016, Morocco and Nigeria launched the project to build a regional gas pipeline linking Nigeria's gas resources with those of several West African countries and Morocco.
