The illegal participation of Konstantin Zatulin, the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, who is known for his pro-Armenian position, in the said "forum" is another provocation against Azerbaijan," said Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Leyla Abdullayeva.

Report informs that spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Leyla Abdullayeva  spoke commenting on the illegal participation of deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma Konstantin Zatulin at the "forum" in the occupied city of Khankendi.

"As you know, due to his repeated illegal visits to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, Zatulin's name appears in the relevant "black list". His participation in this "forum" and his statements bearing the character of groundless attacks against Azerbaijan fundamentally contradict the official position of Russia on this issue.

Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia at the level of strategic partnership are successfully developing on the basis of close contacts between the presidents of both states. Thus, the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the recent meeting of the Valdai international discussion club and his meeting with the President of the Russian Federation on a bilateral basis are clear examples of this.

Against the background of such a successful development of cooperation between the two countries, the activities of persons like Zatulin are aimed at damaging Azerbaijani-Russian relations. However, Azerbaijani-Russian relations will continue their progressive development despite such provocative attempts," the representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry added.
