Baku's main expectation from the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Bratislava is to move forward, Euraisia Diary reports citing Report News Agency that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told at a press conference following a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Baku.
He noted that Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan intends to raise the issue of the status and security of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan indicated that the current state of the negotiation process on Nagorno-Karabakh leads nowhere: "What is security in our understanding and understanding of Armenia? There is an awareness that, first of all, the armed forces must return to the barracks.Yes, security is important. But it is important for Azerbaijan, its population in Karabakh. Refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh should return to normal life.We turned to the co-chairs in connection with the preparation of a report on assessing the situation and resolving the security issue. This requires serious substantive talks. I think that tomorrow we will open these new substantive talks”, Mammadyarov said.
