Eurasia Diary reports citing Azertag that, President Ilham Aliyev spoke about this in his address to the nation on October 26.

I am absolutely right when I say that we are providing historical justice. During the lively discussion at the Munich Security Conference, I was able to prove to the whole world that this is our historical land.  I have informed about the Kurakchay peace agreement happened at the beginning of the 19th century. There was no information about this agreement in the world in general.

The head of state said that there is no extensive information about the Kurakchay agreement even in Azerbaijan.

“The Kurakchay peace agreement was signed by Ibrahimkhalil khan- khan of Karabakh and Shusha, on the other hand, by the general of Tsarist Russia. That agreement is on the Internet, everyone can look at it, and I am sure that after my words, a large international audience carefully watching the situation on the current battlefield will search and learn that there is not a word about the Armenian people in that agreement. Because the Armenian people were not here at that time. The Armenian people were brought to our ancestral lands after the Kurakchay, Gulustan, Turkmenchay peace treaties. They were purposefully brought and placed in Karabakh, one of the most charming places of our country. ”

President Ilham Aliyev noted that the purpose was to change the religious composition in the new lands of the empire, to expel Muslims from their ancestral lands, expel them and create a new reality. Unfortunately, they achieved their goal.
