Armenia hopes to sign a legal document with Azerbaijan in the near future, which will allow the construction of the Yeraskh (Arazdeen)-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway to begin. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting, Azeri Daily reports.
'Currently, we are carrying out concrete work on the construction of the Armenian section of the Yeraskh-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway. Technical work has already begun. We hope that the agreements reached will be reflected in the form of a document in the near future and the process will be fully developed,' TASS quotes the Armenian PM as saying.
According to Pashinyan, on Thursday the government will also announce a tender for companies to start construction of the Sisian-Kajaran section of the strategic North-South highway. 'Of course, if there are political agreements, the North-South road can also link Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey,' he added.
