“Today, despite Azerbaijan’s calls for peace, with the “support” of the superpowers, peace has not yet been established in Karabakh. It is no longer a secret to anyone that the same forces that delayed the peace process and fueled the conflict in their time are the same forces.
This statement was made by Umud Mirzayev, president of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Ednews reports. According to him, all these processes taking place in the world's hotspots today are regulated by the interests of the great powers.
"The fate of the conflicts that have been going on for many years depends on the interests and interests of the large states and is being managed under their "humanitarian" flags. What happened in the South Caucasus - Karabakh is also the result of these similar policies. If this were not so, the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group, where the world's superpowers are represented, would not be so ineffective. Over the past thirty years, the French side shamelessly abandoned the position of occupying Armenia, and Russia, and the US indirectly "supported" the prolongation of the conflict. Nonsense resolutions adopted at different times, false facts voiced by the Armenian diaspora, and baseless statements issued by major powers resulted in the prolongation of the Karabakh conflict and the region remaining one of the hot spots. The first thing that comes to mind is Amendment No. 907 of the US Congress, initiated by the Armenian lobby, which prohibits direct US government aid to Azerbaijan. We are the invaded, we are the harassed."
U. Mirzayev also noted that instead of protecting the rights of Azerbaijanis whose lands and homes were looted, killed, burned, and deported, they were both accused and subjected to sanctions by the world justice.
“It's Paradoxical, isn't it? I recall thoughts that I expressed at one of the meetings I held at the US State Department in the mid-2000s. In the 80s of the last century, when the Azerbaijani people fought for independence, they considered the United States as their example, the cradle of democracy and the guardian of justice. However, after the invasion of Karabakh, we saw that America was at the head of the superpowers that encouraged these processes and tried to escalate the conflict. Even after our lands were liberated from occupation, it was confirmed that neither human rights, nor democracy, nor peace were in the interests of the United States. Finally, the reaction to the fraudulent elections carried out by the separatist regime has once again proven that there is nothing but the sacred interests of the United States. Where there are interests, it is not important to talk about justice, peace, and reconciliation. As a representative of a Civil Society Organization whose mission is peace, we would like great countries to base their policies on peace and work for the welfare of people. Let them treat conflicts fairly and think about resolving disputes and conflicts only through dialogue. Today, the Azerbaijani people want peace even after 30 years of occupation and oppression. It is enough, you have supported those who want to take away from us what belongs to us. Once again, we address the leaders of the superpowers, the world community, and international organizations and urge them to take only fair steps for peace. The path to ensuring peace in Azerbaijan and in our region lies through a fair approach."
