"Voicing such opinions at a time when there is hope for the signing of a peace agreement is a suicide attempt to its own people."
In his statement to Ednews, the president of the International Eurasian Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev, voiced his opinion on the revanchist statement of the Armenian archbishop.
"It is worth reminding that all these terrible expressions, which push the Armenian people to new wars and tragedies, are voiced at a time when there is hope for the signing of a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan.
I reminded that Armenians started forming separatist forces in Azerbaijan in the late 1980s. It is their "miatsum" ideas, the events around Karabakh, the deportation of our countrymen from Western Azerbaijan, and the result of their today's tragedy. With this call, Archbishop Galstanyan once again admitted his revanchism. A few days after the exchange of servicemen of Azerbaijan and Armenia, he called on his partners to take the same step. This is an unacceptable incident, an attempt to assassinate the ordinary Armenian people. This is also his indication that there are still revanchist, separatist, self-interested, nonsense people at the highest level in Armenia. Unfortunately, Armenian revanchists still do not learn from history and do not realize that such calls will cause them to suffer more losses. can".
Umud Mirzayev also shared his views on cohabitation. He spoke about all the positive efforts made by the Azerbaijani side in the path of peace.
"Despite the fact that Armenia carried out ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis and occupied our lands for more than 30 years, the people of Azerbaijan have always supported peace. We have always tried to create peace and tranquility. That is why we tolerated the inactivity of the OSCE Minsk Group. For the sake of creating peace and security between the two countries, we have always focused our policy on this, whether at the level of the people or at the highest level of the state. Ilham Aliyev, the Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Azerbaijan, clearly aims for the citizens of the two countries to live in peace. Also, the phrase "Armenia and Azerbaijan should come together and make peace" expressed by Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in an interview with the BBC yesterday, is a clear example of this.
It should be noted that Bagrat Galstanyan, head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, made a hateful call in his sermon. He called Armenians to war with Azerbaijan and called himself a revanchist.
