The key directions of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM) for 2024 have been determined, Ednews informs referring to the press service of the organization.
It is noted that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship will strive to contribute to the implementation of the organization’s goals, in particular by focusing on such areas of cooperation as the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of mine clearance and post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, strengthening cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, encouraging activities in the field of digitalization, with a special emphasis on the digitalization of transport corridors, the field of energy security, etc.
In addition, Azerbaijan’s chairmanship will continue to coordinate the joint efforts of the GUAM member states within international platforms - the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe and other international organizations. The chairmanship will also focus on enhancing the viability of GUAM.
In 2024, Azerbaijan’s presidency will also organize meetings of the Council of National Coordinators and the Council of Foreign Ministers.
