Relations between China and Azerbaijan have always been good since the very beginning of their independence and will only continue to improve. Azerbaijan is firmly committed to developing cooperation with China in all areas, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said in an interview with the Chinese CGTN TV, Ednews informs.

“First of all, political relations between the two countries have always been at their best, characterized by mutual understanding and dialogue, especially given Azerbaijan’s support for the ‘one China policy’,” Hajiyev noted.

Regarding economic relations, according to Hikmat Hajiyev, cooperation with China and the active participation of Chinese companies are part of the success story of Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan has identified green growth and digital transformation as one of its national priorities. Baku will host COP29 this year. The middle corridor takes on additional significance. Also, the views and visions of China and Azerbaijan coincide in many other areas, including cultural and humanitarian fields and interaction in international institutions. Based on traditional ties, goodwill and friendship, we look forward to the continuation of this cooperation,” he said.

Speaking about the results of his visit to China, the presidential aide emphasized that this gives even more confidence in the continuation and expansion of bilateral relations.

“I am grateful to our Chinese partners that Azerbaijan’s intentions to develop cooperation receive the same response from China,” he noted.
