'Armenia's accusations against Azerbaijan at the International Court of Justice are nonsense' - Rey Karimoglu

Politics 11:30 17.04.2024

As we reported, the International Court of Justice held hearings on Azerbaijan's claim against Armenia in The Hague. Public hearings were held on preliminary objections raised by Azerbaijan in the case of the appeal of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) (Armenia v. Azerbaijan). Yesterday, Armenia had to respond to Azerbaijan's claims in court. During the ongoing hearings, the Armenian side once again voiced baseless slanderous claims against Azerbaijan.

Regarding the topic of the agenda, Karabakh veteran and journalist Rey Karimoglu told Ednews that the groundless claims made by the Armenian side are nonsense:

"Allegedly, Azerbaijan committed military violence against Armenia during the 44-day war, and we allegedly carried out ethnic cleansing against them. We all know very well that the Second Karabakh War was our rightful war and we came out of that war with a white face and became a victorious state. Now Armenia is talking about faraway issues at the International Court of Justice, they are accusing us. I was in the Soviet army, lived in different republics, and knew many nationalities. I thought that a nation cannot be bad as a society. But after getting to know Armenians, I saw that they have a sick mentality as a society. There are also intellectuals among Armenians, but until the last moment, an Armenian intellectual will show his Armenianness, just like a scorpion stings."

R. Kerimoglu reminded that the Armenian state occupied the lands of Azerbaijan for 30 years:

"1 million Azerbaijanis are refugees and displaced persons, we have lost 22,500 people in the war. Not to mention those who died of homelessness during the refugee period. Instead of apologizing for the cruelties, vandalism, and crimes they committed, they shamelessly slander Azerbaijan in the International Court of Justice and baseless accusations. Azerbaijani society should not be indifferent to this issue, they should express their opinions. Hey Europe! The world is deceiving you! "Armenia is a terrorist state."
