Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that he believes the situation in Syria will be on the agenda of the planned meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders will meet on July 3 in Astana, and will hold talks on a number of topics, including the situation in Ukraine.
Ednews reports that Peskov said the meeting will be lengthy and involve issues of "mutual interest." He said the two countries are ready to resolve bilateral issues and underlined the importance of trade and "economic interaction."
In June, Russia welcomed Turkey's willingness to consider joining BRICS when Peskov said the matter will be discussed during the bloc's meeting in October this year.
