Deputy Director of Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrey Nastasin said on Wednesday Russia will respond with "military technical" measures to the military buildup on the Russia-Finland border. The expansion of NATO's military capacities in Finland constitutes a threat to Russian national security, he said.
Ednews reports that the Russian diplomat's comments were made in response to the Finnish Parliament's recent approval of a defense cooperation agreement with the United States. The treaty, signed in December last year, allows the possibility of deploying US troops to 15 Finnish military facilities.
