The Founder President of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Alumni Association (PAAA) and Pakistani Global Youth Leader, Mr. Qaiser Nawab, extends a warm welcome to President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan on his two-day official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Ednews informs.

President Aliyev arrived in Islamabad today on Thursday and was received with great honor by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The arrival ceremony included a 21-gun salute and children in traditional dress presenting bouquets to the Azerbaijani leader.

During his visit, President Aliyev will engage in high-level discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari, covering a broad range of topics aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed, solidifying the partnership between the two nations.

Mr. Qaiser Nawab, representing the youth of Pakistan, emphasized, "On behalf of the youth of Pakistan, I extend a heartfelt welcome to President Aliyev. Pakistan, vulnerable to climate change impacts such as flooding and heatwaves, looks to Azerbaijan, especially as the host of COP 29, to support our efforts in presenting our case to the global community. Azerbaijan has always stood by Pakistan on Kashmir, and reciprocally, Pakistan has supported Azerbaijan on the Karabakh issue. The youth of Pakistan have always cherished a strong bond of friendship and brotherhood with our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters. This visit will undoubtedly elevate our relations to new heights, and we hope such visits can be planned more frequently to strengthen our ties."

As a special gesture of honor, President Aliyev's aircraft was met upon arrival in Pakistan's airspace by fighter jets of the Pakistani Air Force and escorted to the destination. A guard of honor and a salute of artillery fire were conducted in honor of the President at Pakistan Air Force Base, Nur Khan.

Mr. Qaiser Nawab concluded, "This visit not only strengthens our diplomatic relations but also reaffirms our commitment to working together for peace, prosperity, and development. We look forward to the positive outcomes of President Aliyev's visit and the continued strengthening of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations."
