“I believe that the COP events, which bring all countries together for the prevention of climate change and the green development of the world, are crucial,” the UK's Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Ed Miliband said, Ednews informs.
Miliband made the remarks during his speech at the opening ceremony of the new administrative building of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the UK.
He noted that the continuation of the agreed measures at the COP meetings, as well as reaching an important agreement on the issue of climate financing at COP29, is of great importance in terms of ensuring the climate goals.
In this context, the official drew attention to the importance of supporting the countries that suffer the most from climate problems.
The Secretary of State repeatedly highlighted that the British side is ready to support Azerbaijan and cooperate closely with the country for the successful organization of COP29 and the achievement of the expected results.
