Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong (pictured) met with Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk in Silicon Valley on May 10, the South Korean giant said on Sunday.
EDnews informs that the encounter, which took place at Samsung Electronics' semiconductor research center in California, marked the first private meeting between Lee and Musk. Samsung and Tesla could be looking to partner up, allowing the two companies to develop next-generation IT technologies, as well as chips for fully autonomous cars, sources told Yonhap.
In April, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol promised to back Musk's investment in South Korea, should he chose to do so.
