Elon Musk's SpaceX hired former NASA official Kathy Lueders just weeks after she retired from the agency in late April, according to a report published by CNBC on Monday.
EDnews informs via CNN that Lueders, an engineer and business manager who led NASA's human spaceflight program, will allegedly serve as a general manager at the SpaceX facility in Texas and directly report to COO Gwynne Shotwell.
Her appointment comes as SpaceX boosts work on its Starship rocket, the largest and most powerful rocket ever flown, to make it capable of safely flying people into space in the years to come. Starship's first liftoff resulted in an explosion, however Musk confirmed a new test will take place later this year.
