The Israeli Communication Ministry announced on Tuesday in its daily briefing on the conflict between the country's military and Hamas that the government has initiated negotiations to have Starlink, an internet service designed by Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and X Corp. Chairman Elon Musk's SpaceX, introduced on its territory.
The ministry said the government aims to use Starlink to strengthen Israel's internet communication capabilities as the country is conducting its campaign against Hamas.
SpaceX similarly activated Starlink in Ukraine in 2022 when it first faced Russia's military operation.
