Ednews reports that Sami Al-Hajj, director of the Al Jazeera Public Liberties and Human Rights department, who visited Azerbaijan at the invitation of the International Eurasia Press Fund, said in an interview to Real TV.
He also spoke about films about Azerbaijan produced by Al Jazeera in cooperation with the International Eurasia Press Fund. Sami Al-Hajj noted that through these films, Azerbaijan became closely known in the Arab world.
In addition, Sami Al-Hajj spoke about the activities of Al Jazeera in disseminating information during the 44-day Patriotic War. He stressed that the channel wants to get more information about Azerbaijan and the need to convey it to the Arab world.
During the interview, the guest also spoke about the memorandum signed between the IEPF and noted that Al Jazeera is interested in holding many events in Azerbaijan. Sami Al-Hajj also spoke about the training "Safety of Journalists" held last year with the joint support of the IEPF and with the participation of 50 local journalists.
During the conversation, Sami Al-Hajj touched on the issue about the great return to Karabakh as well as the problem of landmines.
"We are also here to bring the mine problem to the world. As you know, a major return to the liberated lands in Karabakh is expected, but there are still unexploded mines. That is why Al Jazeera is here today."
It should be noted that an international conference entitled "Humanitarian Demining Activities and Sustainable Development Goals" was held in Baku from March 31 to April 1. The mine problem was discussed at the event. Sami Al-Hajj also delivered a speech at the conference organised by ANAMA and the United Nations Development Program, which was attended by about 120 delegates from 30 countries.
