Ednews informs that the 34th meeting of the Executive Board of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation and the session of the Extraordinary General Assembly were held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At the event, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Türkiye, Muharrem Kasapoglu, presented a report on V Islamic Solidarity Games "Konya 2021" to the NOC representatives. At the same time, a number of important issues related to the changes to the ISSF Statute, as well as the latest innovations related to the rules of holding the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games were discussed. Mr. Nasser Ayman Majali has been elected as the new General Secretary of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation.
During the meeting, the financial statements covering the years 2018-2022 has been presented to NOC members in detail. Asistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs Tarig Ali Bakheet also conveyed his views to NOC members. A presentation was held by Federation officials regarding the holding of the World Combat Games in 2023 in Saudi Arabia.
The family members of the former Vice-President of the institution Ahmed Fouly, as well as former General Secretaries Mohammad Gazdar and Mohammad Algarnas, were presented with awards for their contribution to the activities of the organization. It was decided to hold the next election report conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in August, 2023.
We would like to inform you that Chingiz Huseynzade, the Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee, and Azer Aliyev, the General Secretary, were represented in the Azerbaijani delegation. During the meeting, Konul Nurullayeva, a member of the ISSF Executive Committee, has been elected a member of the Evaluation and Inspection Commission created to determine the level of preparation of countries wishing to host the next Islamic Solidarity Games. Konul Nurullayeva also met with ISSF President Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal Al Saud.
