As Ednews reported, on June 16, funded by the European Union (EU) and the US State Department and carried out by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with ANAMA, the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and the Mine Advisory Group (MAG), Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), the opening ceremony of the project "supporting the safe return of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) through Capacity Building" was held.
According to Ednews, ANAMA, representatives of the EU, UNDP, the US embassy, IEPF and MAG attended the opening ceremony, which took place at the Tartar Regional Vocational Training Center of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), Ednews reports. The event was attended by ANAMA Chairman of the board Samir Poladov, IEPF President Umud Mirzayev, EU representative to Azerbaijan Udriste Oana, U.S. Embassy advisor on Political Affairs Phillip Tissue and others.
Speaking at the event, the head of the IEPF Umud Mizayev informed about the activities of the organization.
"We operated on the territory of 176 villages in Aghdam and Fuzuli, along the line of contact to Fuzuli and Goranboy, as well as in the liberated territories. In total, about 2,000 square kilometers of dubious territories were identified by the team operating on the basis of the IEPF.
