“Establishment by Azerbaijan a border checkpoint on the Lachin road was a necessary measure to put an end to these illegal acts,” Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Ambassador Rovshan Sadigbayli said as he responded to the Armenian Foreign Minister at the meeting of the Permanent Council, Ednews reports.
"At the same time, appropriate conditions have been created for the transparent and orderly crossing of Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan in both directions. Since the establishment of the border checkpoint - from April 23 until now, despite the false propaganda and efforts of the Armenian side to prevent them from using this crossing, 1,927 people have crossed the border using the checkpoint," the ambassador noted.
