The International Boxing Association has chosen Tashkent as the venue for the Asian Championship-2017, press secretary of the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan Umid Mirzakoriev told.
He said that the continental championship for men will be held from 30 April to 7 May. "Besides the medals, boxers will compete for 60 licenses for the World Cup, which is held in Hamburg, Germany, from 25 August to 4 September. Six of the best boxers in each of 10 weight categories (from 49 to over 91 kilograms) will be able to perform at the World Cup-2017," he said.
Asian Championship in 2015 was held in Bangkok.
