Arsenal fans are convinced they'll land Keylor Navas in the summer after Petr Cech announced he will retire at the end of the season.

The Gunners were linked with the Real Madrid shot-stopper earlier in the January transfer window but ruled out a move due to already having three keepers.

Cech, who lost his place to Bernd Leno in the Arsenal first team this season, announced on social media on Tuesday that this would be his final campaign.

The former Chelsea keeper wrote: "This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of the season.

"Having played 15 years in the Premier League, and won every single trophy possible, I feel like I have achieved everything I set out to achieve.

"I will continue to work hard at Arsenal to hopefully win one more trophy this season, then I am looking forward to seeing what life holds for me off the pitch."

Emery dismissed Arsenal's interest in Navas in a press conference this month, telling the world's media: "Not true.

We never speak about one goalkeeper because I think - and it's true - we are very happy with the three goalkeepers we have now. We've never spoken about Keylor Navas."

But funds for new players will be available in the summer at the Emirates, and the Gunners will need a new keeper.

This has led fans to put two and two together, with one tweeting: "Finally. Navas in coming," and another adding: "If Arsenal don't try and swoop up Keylor Navas since Cech is leaving they are stupid."
