Sarri is reportedly Massimiliano Allegri’s successor at Juventus and an announcement is due on his appointment.
The Italian has struggled to establish himself or his style at Chelsea but remains highly thought of in his homeland.
Sarri’s recruitment at Stamford Bridge has not helped his cause with Jorginho and Higuain successes under him at Napoli, but have struggled to replicate that form in the Premier League.
Higuain though looks like being given a second chance in Turin if Sarri joins, reports Gazetta dello Sport in Italy.
The Argentine striker was prolific at Napoli when Sarri was manager before a move to Juventus materialised.
He hit the back of the net with regularity for the Serie A champions before the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo bumped him down the pecking order.
His loan spell at Chelsea came after a poor six months at AC Milan which has seen his form plummet.
Sarri’s affection for the player and his previous exploits with the Bianconeri though look to have earned him another crack with an elite team.
He will have to play second fiddle to Ronaldo, but it means the striker can apply his trade in an environment that has seen him flourish previously.
Juve’s attacking options also include Paulo Dybala who had been heading for the exit door under Allegri.
The Argentine star’s form had dipped following the arrival of Ronaldo and his agent and brother had alerted teams to his availability.
The 25-year-old has since quashed those rumours and is looking forward to another year in Italy, possibly with Sarri as his boss.
The Italian club’s move for Sarri is a show of confidence in a manager who is yet to deliver a trophy as a manager - although that could change in Wednesday night’s Europa League final.
Juve as desperate to again lift the Champions League having lost five finals since they last lifted it in 1996.
