Latvian President Egils Levits called on Georgian authorities to fully guarantee former President Mikheil Saakashvili's rights. He also demanded to provide Saakashvili with the necessary medical care, Ednews.net reports.
"I call on the Georgian authorities to fully guarantee the rights of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, including the necessary medical care," Levits wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, the European Parliament adopted, by an absolute majority, a resolution on the situation around former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, agreeing that Tbilisi is responsible for the politician's health.
