The United Kingdom and South Korea agreed on Monday to increase their cooperation in the fields of nuclear power and clean energy, South Korea's Industry Ministry stated, Ednews reports citing Teletrader.
"South Korea has competitiveness in designing and building nuclear power plants and components manufacturing, as well as in terms of nuclear fuel and small modular reactors. The two nations can have complementary relations in this field," South Korean Industry Minister Lee Chang-yang said following a meeting with UK Energy Security Secretary Grant Shapps.
Seoul noted South Korea will participate in the construction of a new nuclear reactor in the UK and added the two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation on hydrogen, wind power and other clean energy sectors.
