Japan's Ministry of Defense has started preparing a response for North Korea's possible launch of a military reconnaissance satellite, according to Japan's Kyodo news agency.
Ednews reports citing DW that the preparations reportedly involve the deployment of Patriot PAC-3 systems and ships with Aegis systems armed with SM-3 interceptor missiles. Due to the increasingly difficult security situation, the Japanese authorities are also exploring the option of placing the Patriot PAC-3 in the south of the country.
According to previous reports, Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada postponed his trip to Australia to coordinate preparations for the satellite launch.
