White House communications coordinator John Kirby said on Tuesday that the upcoming G7 summit in Japan would unveil new action to further isolate Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, EDnews informs via Teletrader.
During the daily White House press briefing, Kirby told reporters that "the G7 stood in solidarity with Ukraine over the last 15 months ... That solidarity is even stronger now than it was last year."
Kirby confirmed that President Joe Biden would be present at the G7 summit later this week in Hiroshima, however noting that the administration is reconsidering Biden's planned trip to Australia and Papa New Guinea due to ongoing negotiations over raising the debt ceiling before the June deadline.
