The two leaders discussed plans to enhance Ukraine's long-term defense capabilities and deter Russian aggression, including joint efforts to train Ukrainian pilots on advanced fighter aircraft like the F-16 jet.
The US president also addressed the ongoing missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, highlighting the importance of bolstering Ukraine's air defenses, while emphasizing the need for Ukraine to implement necessary reforms to fulfill its Euro-Atlantic aspirations. "President Biden also welcomed President Zelensky'ss commitment to a just peace based on fundamental principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter," the White House noted.
