Former United States President Donald Trump pledged to end the automatic citizenship for newly born children of illegal immigrants if he wins a new term in the White House next year, Ednews informs via CNN.
In a video posted by the Trump War Room account on Twitter, Trump said that he would sign an executive order directing federal agencies to halt automatic US citizenship to the children of "illegal aliens."
"My order will also end their unfair practice known as birth tourism, where hundreds of thousands of people from all over the planet, squat in hotels for their last few weeks of pregnancy to illegitimately and illegally obtain US citizenship for the child, often to later exploit chain migration," Trump argued.
The controversial Title 42 policy introduced by the Trump administration expired earlier this month, returning the decades-old Title 8 under which migrants can enter a lengthy process by seeking asylum.
