Honduras inaugurated its first embassy in China on Sunday, two months after diplomatic ties were established and just six days after Beijing established its own diplomatic presence in the Central American country.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang and his Honduran counterpart Eduardo Enrique Reina attended the inauguration ceremony. Tegucigalpa decided to sever its diplomatic relations with Taiwan in March, stating that "the government of Honduras recognizes the existence of just one China in the world."
