"As a proud American, I am so grateful to my country for supporting an idea which turned into reality with strong support from USAID - US Agency for International Development—planting sustainable peace through agriculture."
Ednews reports that Heidi Thomas Kuhn, the founder and CEO of Roots of Peace NGO shared it on her Facebook page.
H. Kuhn added that she had an opportunity to visit a colleague at USAID, Nitin Madhav, who strongly supported the Roots of Peace concept for RAMP (Rural Agricultural Marketing Program) in 2003, and express her deepest gratitude:
"This program grew into CHAMP (Commercial Horticultural & Agricultural Marketing Program) and AMP with the leadership of my husband, Gary Kuhn and son, Tucker Kühn. Over two decades later, millions of Afghan farmers and families have benefited from our efforts to cultivate peace through agriculture."
"The debut of ‘LIVE with the Laureate’ aired today hosted by Cheryl Jennings in tribute to the World Food Prize Foundation The World Food Prize", founder of organization noted.
"A special ‘thank you’ to all the incredible people in my life who contributed to this success. May this only be the beginning, as we seek to expand our business model for peace worldwide—flag by flag; farmer by farmer", Heidi Kuhn concluded.
