"The Celebration of Miljenko ‘Mike’ Grgich’s 100th Birthday Celebration at Grgich Hills Estate with his daughter, Violet Grgich, and nephew Ivo Jeramaz."
Ednews reports that Heidi Thomas Kuhn, the founder and CEO of Roots of Peace NGO shared this on her Facebook page:
"The temperature was also over 100-degree heat in Napa Valley, as hundreds of guests from around the world gathered to celebrate the tremendous accomplishments of this Centurion who won the 1976 Paris Tasting and who bravely walked the minefields of his homeland with me in May 2000 with a vision of turning ‘MINES TO VINES’. Together, we partnered to raise funds to remove over 1.2 million landmines/UXO and restore the vineyards and farmland to plant the Roots of Peace."
The founder of the organization added that this Croatian Cultural and Musical event was further supported by a Letter from the Director of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and fellow Advisory Board members Robert N Johnson and George Edwards congratulating Mike Grgich, as his original suitcase from Yugoslavia is now at The Smithsonian—an icon of inspiration to immigrants who make America great!:
"The S.F. Consul General of Ukraine, Dmytro Kushneruk joined with the Consul General of Croatia Renee Pea to support Heidi Kuhn, CEO and Founder, of Roots of Peace to bring forth this important message of cultivating peace through agriculture at the World Food Prize World Food Prize Foundation event hosted in Des Moines, Iowa on October 24th—26th in America’s Heartland!"
"Join us! www.worldfoodprize.org. It is deeply inspiring to know that ‘peace is possible’ from a heartfelt effort born in Napa Valley. And, like the tiniest mustard seed that grows forth into the Kingdom of Heaven, this small seed has taken ‘root’—blooming on multiple continents around the world! ZIVILI!", Kuhn concluded in the end.
