German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius called on Türkiye to drop its objections to Sweden's NATO membership, Ednews reports, citing CNN.
The German minister said at a joint press conference with the Polish counterpart Mariusz Błaszczak that it is important for Türkiye to end this resistance.
"We are facing a new security situation due to the war in Ukraine. The security situation forces us to negotiate about deterrence and defense capabilities, and it is important that Sweden to join NATO soon and that Türkiye abandons its resistance," Pistorius said.
