An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 struck the Argentina, near the country's border with Chile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake's epicenter was registered 25 kilometers southeast of the Loncopue municipality in the Neuquen Province, at a depth of 171.4 kilometers.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), shaking was felt over 600 kilometers by around 17 million people in Chile. The EMSC warned aftershocks are possible and called on people to "stay away from damaged areas."
