Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that the Black Sea Grain Initiative had been officially suspended today, while Moscow vows that it will return only if its demands are fulfilled.
"The Black Sea agreements have ceased to be valid today. As the President of the Russian Federation said earlier, the deadline expires on July 17," Peskov reminded journalists in a press conference. However, he also added that "as soon as the Russian part is completed, Russia will immediately return to the implementation of the deal."
In addition, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also declared that Russia had today officially notified the Turkish and Ukrainian sides, as well as the UN, of its objection to the extension of the agreement.
