French Economy Minister Brune Le Maire said on Sunday that he wants to boost trade between France and China. He told a press conference following the 9th China-France High-Level Economic and Financial Dialogue that France is already making steps in some areas, including cosmetics, and that he wants to see Chinese companies expand their operations in Europe. He insisted that he opposes the idea of Europe's "decoupling" from China.
Earlier, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said economic relations between France and China "have shown great resilience and sound momentum of development," according to the Xinhua state media agency. He said China is ready to increase cooperation on international and multilateral affairs.
