The euro fell slightly against the US dollar on Monday morning before the publication of macro data in the eurozone, Ednews informs.
The euro fell to 1.1011 against the US dollar from the level of the previous close of $1.1015. At the same time, the dollar against the yen increased to 141.88 yen from 141.15 yen. And the dollar index (the exchange rate against a basket of currencies of six US trading partners) rose by 0.18% to 101.81 points.
Later, Eurostat will publish a preliminary estimate of consumer price growth in the eurozone. It is predicted that annual inflation in the countries of the currency bloc in July slowed down to 5.3% from 5.5%.
Besides, a preliminary estimate of the GDP of the eurozone countries for the last quarter, which, according to expectations, increased by 0.5% in annual terms and by 0.2% in quarterly terms, will be published.
