European markets opened in the green on Wednesday as investors continued focusing on the BRICS summit in South Africa and awaited preliminary PMI data from across the continent due for release later in the day.
The Euro Stoxx 50 climbed 0.31% at 9:00 am CET as Adyen jumped 1.41%.
The DAX increased by 0.31% at 9:01 am CET. The best performer was Sartorius, whose shares added 1.09%.
The CAC 40 was up 0.35% at 9:00 am CET. Societe General led the gains as its stock rallied 2.09%.
The FTSE 100 rose 0.19% at 9:00 am CET with Ocado Group up 1.39%.
The euro added 0.15% against the dollar to go for 1.08622 at 8:59 am CET and the pound gained 0.15% compared to the US currency to sell for 1.27524 at the same time.
