North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited on Tuesday North Korea's navy command as South Korea and the United States carried out another round of joint military exercises. Kim said the development of naval forces "has become a very urgent issue in view of the enemies' recent aggressive attempts and character of military actions," South Korea's Yonhap reported, citing North Korean state media.
Kim claimed the waters surrounding the Korean Peninsula have become "most unstable waters with the danger of a nuclear war" due to the military cooperation between the US, South Korea and Japan. He called on North Korea's Navy to maintain battle readiness in light of ongoing tensions in the region.
