The Eurozone economy grew by 0.1% in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter, according to the second estimate by Europstat published on Thursday. The preliminary report estimated the euro area's gross domestic product (GDP) growth at 0.3%. The European Union's GDP rose by 0.2% in the second quarter. On a yearly basis, the Eurozone economy grew by 0.5%, while the EU economy saw a 0.4% growth.
The number of employed persons increased by 0.2% in the euro area and by 0.1% in the EU quarter-on-quarter. Compared with the same quarter of 2022, employment was up by 1.3% in the euro area and by 1.1% in the EU.
