The US embassy in Jerusalem issued a "shelter-in-place" advisory on Saturday due to the situation in the country following today's Hamas attack.
The statement goes on to say that the US embassy "is aware that there have been casualties as a result of these incidents." According to the notice, the staff is now "sheltering in place."
"US citizens are reminded to remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness as security incidents, including mortar and rocket fire, often take place without warning," the statement said.
