NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Wednesday that Russia's nuclear rhetoric is "reckless" and "dangerous" and insisted Moscow's "nuclear blackmail" will not convince the alliance to stop supporting Ukraine.
Stoltenberg insisted it is in NATO's interest that Ukraine "prevails" in its conflict against Russia and stressed allies won't allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to "blackmail" NATO.
Commenting on Moscow's plans to retract its ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Agreement (CTBT), the NATO chief said such actions show Russia's "lack of regard" for its international commitments. He also insisted that none of NATO allies have conducted nuclear explosive testing for 25 years and do not plan to do so, despite Russia's warning the US is preparing nuclear tests in Nevada.
